"city-Business: Focus on the Lyon model"

L Expansion spent in his Cahiers du Management in January with a special "city- enterprises ". Reference to the flamboyance that, from antiquity to the Renaissance, characterized the powerful "city states". Sylvie Ouziel presents challenges for large metropolises, Asia, America or Europe, more concentrated production and trade, each needing to improve its environment for its own competitiveness. It is no accident that the authors of this fascinating study took the Grand Lyon to illustrate the importance of metropolitan. Interview when I return to this important topic for the future of our city and I invite you to discover here or read in the video by Expansion. Com.

In the European top 15 and top national rankings (excluding Paris) for the creation of enterprises, the capital of Gaul placed on its economic environment.

L'Expansion. Com: Do you continue to host Lyon still more people and entrepreneurs?
Yes, and I am delighted. By 2030, our city will attract 150,000 new residents, 300 000 if we take into account the metropolis. We regularly top national rankings (excluding Paris) for the creation of enterprises, and in the European top 15. Today, we are at very high rate of 14,000 new businesses per year for the Grand Lyon, is + 64% over 2003. This success, we owe it to the network Lyon City of entrepreneurship, which gives the designer the tools to complete the project (financing, administrative support, local knowledge, etc..).
The Greater Lyon has a direction of marketing and economic strategy. Asset residential and economic competitiveness are they on the same footing?
The "residential assets" are the first elements of economic competitiveness. If you want, in 2010, attracting large global groups and investors, they must be offered an attractive business environment. But we must also draw manpower they need. Through the development of a pleasant living environment, with optimal transportation infrastructure, cultural and sporting facilities, an attractive university, and everything that contributes to welcoming new residents.

Lyon has a flattering image. Should it be changed?
We rely on our historic traditions to build the image of our city. Textiles produces the biennial design and fashion. The birth of cinema is the festival of Lights. We will implement a big event around water and rivers. In short, Birmingham is carving a reputation little by little metropolis of events.

What arguments are sensitive to your audience those who decide to locate in Lyon?
In the land that is 30 to 40% cheaper than in Paris, and that accessibility and framework there are much better. Add to this that we have one of the best universities in Europe.

In terms architectural, would you say that Lyon is playing the card of prestige (the skyscraper Oxygen, Incity soon) as well as that of urban planning at breast height?
Public space is good. And we strive to give these two dimensions of space and luxury of space livable. For our major projects - Confluence , Rives de Saone , Part-Dieu 2020, we use the best architects in the world. And it is quite successful, judging by the number of people who go around every day on the banks of the Rhone. In addition, the Confluence is already a landmark: the first sustainable community in Europe, labeled by WWF. As for the Duchère , I firmly believe that the idea of intermediate housing in areas formerly "ghettoized" make school.

The rivalry between Paris and Lyon Is not eclipsed by the challenge with Marseille?
I do not think so. We build in Lyon an EU-wide network capable of exceeding, ultimately fateful threshold of 3 million inhabitants, essential to exist alongside Barcelona and Frankfurt. I do not think Marseille is at this stage, although the Euro-Mediterranean project seems a good project.

The Lyonnais are they more demanding, but also more grateful than others?
Leading a large city requires always arbitrate between the interests local NIMBY (Not in my backyard) and the general interest. I see him with OL Land. But often, once the projects out, recognition comes into effect. By the polls, the election, but also and especially by the positive remarks people crossed over the days. This is an opportunity to say that we are not all for nothing!

Guylaine Gouzou-Testud

"A traveling companion, a friend ..."

Guylaine Gouzou-Testud - DR
C is with great sadness and deep emotion that I just learned the death of Guylaine Gouzou-Testud. In Jean-Louis, her husband, her son Adrian and two Calixte, to his daughter, Leah, I offer my deepest condolences. After suffering a heart attack the day before Noël, Guylaine had been dipped in a coma. His death is a loss for us all. A loss to his family, his friends and relatives who go to my thoughts. A loss for the city of Lyon that it was one of the best ambassadors.
A loss to the Red Cross, the neighborhood she never left. For my part, I lose an assistant, a fellow traveler, but especially a friend. Guylaine was activist convinced of the meeting of all the forces of the plural left and environmentalists. Became Mayor in 2001, it is naturally to her that I turned for the development of social economy. With Guylaine, Lyon became a few years a pilot city of the national territories of fair trade. His vision was not narrow. She defended sustainable development linking all environmental issues, socially useful and responsible consumption. His creation, a year ago, the label " Lyon City Equitable and Sustainable " has to be in Lyon again at the forefront of social innovation and ecological, attracting the attention of our fellow citizens here and throughout France. Guylaine will be missed, we miss her already. A condolence book has been this morning to the public at the entrance of the Hotel de Ville. L he first collected tributes are those of municipal officials who appreciated the authenticity of Guylaine, his simplicity, his kindness, openness to others, his frankness too. We will not forget. His spirit continues to inspire our action in the service of this humanism Lyon it embodied so well.

"With DSK for 2012!"

site DSK2012rhonealpes.fr

M areas, parliamentary, regional and general counsel, elected from various areas of Rhone-Alps, we found last Thursday in Lyon to discuss the prospect of 2012. Here is the call so that together we are launching DSK makes possible the alternation that we call our vows in 2012.

"Our country suffers. We measure each day on the ground cross-effects of a crisis that never ends and the policies of Nicolas Sarkozy. Record unemployment of youth, public deficit, fiscal and social injustice, insecurity, housing crisis, rampant insecurity, disintegration of social ties, decrease civil liberties ... Worse still, the feeling has now installed generation future will live less well than the last.

We refuse to fatalism, and reject all forms of resignation because we have the conviction, reinforced by the results of our local policies, one alternative is possible, that another path exists. Conservatism, populism, or the radical political right and left are not an outlet for France. the responses to our fellow citizens are necessarily complex. They revolve around issues related to the knowledge economy, must rely on the levers of a new social cohesion and ensure the preservation of the planet so as not to jeopardize the future of future generations. These responses require that we look at the world as it is! The times are not incantations but a project rooted in the real world, integrating diversity and heterogeneity of a globalized world.

This project, this is our hope embodied by Dominique Strauss-Kahn, a guarantee of credibility and effectiveness, bearer of a vision for France in the concert of nations. That's the message we want to address to Rhone-Alps in the coming months. We will meet them, solicit their views, will engage players in our region so that Dominique Strauss-Kahn makes possible the rotation in 2012. "

How To Make A 3-d Go Cart Cake

Greeting Lievin

"Change the city to change your life!"

I NVIT by the deputy mayor of Lievin, my friend Jean-Pierre Kucheida , I went on Friday in northern France to extend my greetings to Liévinoise, meeting number - over a thousand people! - In a nice and warm ceremony.

Lievin part of these successes of the Socialist Party in our territories. Affected by the cessation of mining in the 1970s, the region of Lievin has indeed resumed today with a dynamic of yesteryear. Economic dynamism: the city is home to companies facing the same product development and green electricity. Social dynamism: urban renewal, social housing and public facilities (sports, health) are the priorities set by the City Council, and it shows. Cultural vitality: the decentralized branch of the Louvre will soon settle on the territory of the urban community.

in Lievin, the municipal staff and community develops a certain idea of political action. It offers a vision of the land, expanding its network of public transport, fits into this heart of Europe what the Lille conurbation. And, because she knew "bring about deghettoisation" certain neighborhoods, because it opens up to all categories of people, this action on the space is at the service of society. It introduces the fluidity in the company, including France desperately needs.

In carrying out such policies that the Socialists will give tomorrow faith in politics. It is my profound conviction that change the city to change the life, this is a great priority for 2012!

DO YOU HEAR THAT HUGE cry that comes from the east ...

DO YOU HEAR THAT HUGE cry that comes from the east ...
K. Selim

Algerian Rulers entendentils this huge roar coming from the East? Seeing the lack of television coverage of Algeria who voluntarily misses an event of considerable historical, the answer is undoubtedly yes. But what are they reading? Are they just a simplistic "Algeria is not Tunisia?". If this happens, it will perhaps tell them to listen to those many Algerians who say their great admiration for the Tunisians.

Yes, thousands of Algerians have followed on television Foreign Al-Jazeera first, this unstoppable movement toward freedom and democracy of Tunisians. Even among those Algerians who had, in fact nobody knows why a certain condescension towards the Tunisians are admiring. Tunisians are now succeeding in forcing the transition to democracy and not they're making us dream. Of us want. "We're all Tunisians": it was after the speech of the defeat of Ben Ali, sms message, sent to hot Mostefa Bouchachi, president of the LADDH. It is anything but an empty phrase.

It feels Tunisians because we do not want remain in the harbor of political progress and we do not want to miss another turn. It feels Tunisians because we feel they are safe, pain and despite attempts over the minions of the regime to sow chaos, a big step forward. They just put their country in history and they give good accelerator. Yes, the Tunisians are admirable. They give us a great lesson in political maturity and they still have to avoid the pitfalls that hands them a cornered regime change.

But the rulers of Algiers, they hear this clamor? Do they feel that we are at this moment and for the next few days, be Tunisians like? If they feel - and there is every reason to believe that this is the case - what conclusion do they make? We are not privy to their thoughts and elsewhere are expected to speak on the subject without resorting to implausible assertion of "noninterference." We can nevertheless make no mistake that if Tunisia is to many Algerians a dream, a hope, it is for the Algerian government warning high. The first of the warnings is that you should never believe that authoritarian management is able to provide peace of mind. Many believed that Tunisia was finally held, subject, controlled that nothing could shake a regime that had in addition the blessing of Paris and the Western capitals. Ben Ali and his courtiers thought he was probably even more. And that is why they did not see it coming tsunami triggered by the young Bouazizi.

Yes, democracy is annoying, tiring, demanding, difficult, difficult, but it is safer than authoritarianism. In a democracy, a crisis can be solved by elections, by alternating in authoritarianism that can be done by violence or revolution. Yes, we look Tunisia hoping that our leaders still perceive the clamor of many unspoken Algerians who want to be in those moments Tunisians. They understand that they still have the opportunity to drive the movement towards democracy, the rule of law before they undergo it. The Ben Ali regime has missed the turn. The Algerian regime still has the opportunity to act, to discuss with those who do not share his views and to save that company, too battered, a sharp break can come anytime. Yes, let's hope our leaders hear this huge roar coming from the east.

Old Pop Bottles Values

The overwhelming sense of history

The overwhelming sense of history
By K. Selim

"Ben Ali is finished." That was yesterday, a day after a speech by President Tunisian yields on freedoms and democracy but is clinging to power until 2014. Two months ago, the promises of Ben Ali would have won, despite 23 years of dictatorship, a new upsurge in popularity and have given new life to his regime. Today, after at least 70 dead, these concessions came too late to appease the Tunisians. They want his departure and did not want to engage in a democratic transition under his supervision. The regime of Ben Ali, Tunisian too watch through the prism of political and police control was eventually blinded by the appearance of submission of the company. However, the Tunisians were not accumulating resentment against a regime that insult their reason and too little attention to their dignity. It took just a click given by the tragic self-immolation of young Mohamed Bouazizi that Tunisia rebels and launched an assault on the authoritarian system. Ben Ali did not see it coming. He accused his colleagues piteously for having deceived. It proposes a democratization that has systematically refused to Tunisians. He decided to "liberate" the press and end the censorship of the Internet. But for that, it was not until the danger comes around the Palace of Carthage. In the earlier speech, Ben Ali accused the protesters of being terrorists and showing that he did not understand the signals that violent lit around the country. No, Ben Ali has listened to messages of support that it almost came from Paris. As this incredible French Minister of Foreign Affairs, which proposed, in response to the tragedy that took place in Tunisia, to transmit "know-how" French in the repression of demonstrations in its former North African colonies! In Tunisia and Algeria for be precise. The regime has not picked the right signals, he was blinded by the external praise, making it a "bulwark" against Islam. He waited there so much death, suffering and destruction to understand that the Tunisians did not support its paternalism and corruption suffered by the only astronomical Tunisian Western operators being protected by their status. If the answer is right: democracy, justice, freedom of expression, Tunisians do not trust him to implement them. Tunis yesterday, after a mock show of support organized by the ruling party, Tunisia is the rebel who landed in the heart of the capital carrying a clear message: we will only water and bread, but we want the departure of Ben Ali. Ago to organize a democratic transition, but obviously the Tunisians do not want to bear the symbol of the regime continues to occupy the palace of Carthage until 2014. Two months ago, the supply of Ben Ali was widely accepted by the Tunisians and the opposition. Today, she appears as a diversion as she arrives too late, after years of deception and false insurance afforded by authoritarianism. Two months ago, it was midnight yet least five Ben Ali. It is no longer the case. This is a warning to all regimes in the region. This is a warning to the Algerian regime that continues to lock the political field. Authoritarian management is ultimately the guarantee of political deafness, a reliable source of self-poisoning. What happens in Tunisia, where the elites have shown that they can be up to it, is not unlikely in Algeria. It is better to open before being forced. The mechanical rebellions and revolutions are unpredictable and inscrutable.

Letter Of Community Service For A Sorority

When one day the people want to live ....

By K. Selim

"When one day the people want to live ....

Force is to respond to the destiny

Force is to dissipate the darkness of

Force is to break the chains. "

All Tunisian - as many Algerians - to know these powerful of the great poet Abul-Kassem Echabi. The ruling caste Tunisian also known to those of the national poet, but she has long ceased to understand its meaning. Notably, the fact that they express - and still express - a rejection of all forms of oppression, even that which covers clothes worn paternalism. Since December 17 last, following the desperate act of a young victim of a police hogra, Tunisia real resumes in chorus to the poet. So to force the regime to surrender! And he gives, but sparingly, reluctantly, as if he had not yet grasped the extent of anger. As if he did not understand the level of the determination of Tunisian popular classes, elites and even part of the bourgeoisie to end a system that demeans their intelligence and little regard for their dignity. President Ben Ali was sacked his interior minister, Rafik Haj Kacem. It is a sign, but it is insufficient openness. Too little to appease one of the largest movements of social protest and politics since independence. It is too little for a company that has already suffered high casualties for resuming a word confiscated at least two decades. The Head of State ordered the release of people arrested since the outbreak of the dispute. He still has to leave the logic of repression. And note finally that the Tunisian people is important and that the promises of jobs are not advertised not a response to this irrepressible appeal to freedom and dignity that has spread from Sidi Bouzid to all of Tunisia. The Tunisian government is seriously mistaken if instead of hearing his people, he said that the weak response of Europe and particularly that of France, are the "good signals" to save. In this registry, we could see a pathetic response of the Tunisian ambassador to Unesco in which he tries to present the social unrest in his country as a plot of AQIM. He waved joyfully bad a statement of some very opportunistic Droudkel, Emir of nothingness representing only himself. If the Tunisian government is now the same level as its representative to Unesco, he must fear for this country. And for the Tunisians. Tunisia is a big commitment to change. The intelligence, if still in power in order to acknowledge and to accompany him. This country, unlike Algeria, do not have a pension on which power can play. He is the real deal. There was a speech from the public and she does not want to give the cons of empty promises. Not even when European countries are singing the praises of the regime. The Tunisian government will endanger the country if he does not understand that this clamor is a reappropriation of oneself ... The people want to live free of Chabi, we must answer that Fate. The ruling caste known Chabi. She still has to go that deeply expresses the impetus Tunisia. It must be answered prior to that Tunisia does starts to recite another poem Chabi and these worms much less soothing tone: "O tyrant oppressor ... Friend of the night, the enemy of life ... . Ben Ali must move quickly.

List Of Adjectives In Chinese

Interview

"The Scoops Grand Lyon

J 'yesterday morning were the first guest of the year Scoops Grand Lyon, the animated show on Radio Angel Gerard Scoop. Click here for Podcast this interview I also below its transcribed version.

Radio Scoop: "About the Socialist primary: are you hit by a kind of syndrome" Michael Black "who wants a dream Mayor of Lyon President the Republic? "
This is not what makes me run. I just think we're going to alternate that I wish success. Indeed we see today that France is in an extreme situation. From there it should pursue policies lucid!

So you are a candidate in the primaries is not what you say, confirmed during your vows on Monday?
I look especially the return of DSK. I think he is the man for the job because having a view of both the world's problems, those of Europe and our country, he may, if he returns, allow our countries spread in a positive line. It is clear today that, for example in relation to Germany we lose a number of grounds. This is a line that is both strong point of view, which we furnish in innovation, that clears our public debts we need.

You talked a lot of economy. But not a word about security is still one of the major problems of our society. The Lyons saw at events in the fall when there were riots in the city center. In general insecurity is growing in our country ...
is one of the points I will discuss in the book that I go out late February. I think we're in a situation that is not easier than our economy. We did not think that Nicolas Sarkozy was a great economist. By cons, on security issues, one would think he would act strongly and reduce insecurity. We realize that this is not exactly the case and there is an increase in violence. We see it again yesterday in Lyon, with this person being stabbed in the output of a bakery. This rise in violence is extremely disturbing.

Another challenge, ecology, that are ahead ... One may wonder the poor relations that the Mayor of Lyon may have with the Greens. You even "fired" a your assistant greens there just a year because you do not hear well with him?
ecology today is at a crossroads: it is both an ecology I would say somewhat "moralistic" protest, which would prevent any action. Then there are those who act. For example, I think the U.S. is doing a new industrial revolution as they had succeeded that of ICT. They are just trying to make a new revolution in the field of "green technologies" that will transform our future and allow us to regain control over the development of the planet. That is the real problem. There are environmentalists who are in the way that I just mentioned with which the agreement is perfect. Then there are others who are more into the moral protest and who, somehow, recycle a form of leftism in ecology.

ecology would be something too serious to be left to environmentalists?
In any case it requires that those who are serious about ecology, who want it tomorrow at the center of economic development of our country, care for them a little.

In your vows you mentioned - and this is a major problem in our society - the distrust of citizens towards those who appear to them in positions of authority and power and you call for a change in behavior. What will you yourself change your behavior in this year?
I'll try to continue to act with rigor. I think the last ten years that I'm Mayor of Lyon, for thirty years I'm in politics, I try to be rigorous, to have a lifestyle which matches middle classes, so be careful to have a rigorous action which I believe is strong enough and that nobody is truly at stake.

then precisely one change that would not stop raising taxes? You'll do tonight at the Grand Lyon, you did already last year the City of Lyon ...
No, we did two years ago, early in the mandate for the City of Lyon, and then this year it is the only resource in the Greater Lyon was the business tax that was eliminated. So we had to increase this fee to continue to invest heavily. As it no longer exists, there is what I had denounced at the time: what is no longer at the firm level is done on individuals with a modest increase which will be between 8 and 30 € per household (...).

About the stadium, can you understand that those who disagree with you can be sincere? When you hear your opponents that we feel is terrible, so that finally they may well be reasons that you do not share! Mr. Miller is perhaps in good faith?
Listen Mr. Meunier is probably in good faith but on ideas that I consider dangerous. The stadium and the rest: when I see the statements of Mr. Meunier over the state of France, compared to the situation of foreigners in our country from its map vows to ... It is in the climactic! I've never seen that in my political life for a very long time. It is on trend, you see, a little drift that may exist in the USA Tea Parties this kind of Poujadism, populist demagoguery that led to the worst problems.

On the Grand Stage confident are you in the coming year, you get to complete this project?
Yes of course. Either the government wants that Euro 2016 is done and in that case there will be a stage at the Grand Lyon, is actually there will be no Euro 2016. But that, of course, is another story that I would not write!
