Social link, bond of love
Study week : Gn 1.27; Jn 1:1-3, Rom 14.7; 1 Cor 12.14-26, 1 Cor 13, Gal 6.2, PE 4.1 -16.
Verses to memorize: "I give you a new commandment: that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you too, you love each other. If you have love for each other, everyone will know you are my disciples. " (Jn 13.34, 35)
Thought Central : The distinctive character of the disciples of Christ, the love they bear the each other. Love is a blessing not only for those who recroit but also for the giver.
I I is quite clear that the fact of not being loved as well as loneliness and isolation increase the likelihood of various risk behaviors. In this case, the rate of illness and premature death from all causes, is between 200% and 500%. The saddest part is that isolation deprives the person the joy in everyday life, the joy of giving satisfactory and fulfilling relationships. A study was made on one hundred and seventy military wives receiving prenatal care in a military hospital. It shows that women who had no emotional and psychological support were three times more complications than others.
Anything that creates a feeling of isolation can cause pain and lead to disease. However, encouraging love and intimacy, social relationships and community is healing and health. This is not surprising since human beings were originally destined to live together in communion with each other.
By keeping these ideas in mind that will address the last part of our study on health and temperance. The theme this week is the important issue of relationships and how they may affect on the physical well-being.

In beings humans, we are so immersed in sin we often forget how horrible it is and how much we have been affected. It is not easy to realize how far we have fallen down, because it lasts so long.
Read 1.27 Gen. How the fact that Jesus himself is God help us there to better understand what it means to have been created in his image? In How does Jesus help us to know he understood what was the nature of our first parents in the creation?
The Bible is clear: first, we were created in the image of God and, secondly, Jesus is God. See In 1.1-3. Thus, in the beginning, human beings in some way reflected the moral characteristics of Jesus. At this Jesus who loved us to the point of lowered to assume our humanity to save us, that resembled a human being at the origin. So Jesus wanted to serve others to the point of washing the feet of him who would betray him. At this Jesus who, while he was dying on the cross, took the time to comfort him as a thief about to die. So Jesus cried out "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" (Lk 23:34) "Who, what were veiled in To some extent, human beings before the Fall.
The selfless love and concern of others which have marked the life of Jesus is certainly reflected in some way from Adam and Eve before the fall because they were created "in the image of God. " That is why " like Jesus' means we are recreated in the image of what we were at the creation.
When we contemplate Jesus, when we see how he lived, he behaved with people and he loved his enemies, he has become evident that selfless love for others was the heart of his character. So we were created originally to love selflessly around us and watch over him. This probably that means in part having been created in the image of God.
Therefore, if we were created to love and be loved, this can be done in a vacuum: we need people to love, just as they also need to be loved. This is the whole meaning of a community and family.
Think about the following concepts : What it means to have been created in the image of God and that Jesus is God. What this shows us there how we have fallen and how much we need a Savior? Moreover, it does not help us does not understand why we must conduct ourselves better than we do often against others? Explain.

social beings
Men are social beings. Shortly after creating Adam, God said " It is not good that man should be alone" (Gen 2.18), and it gave him a companion. We need each other.
is why it is necessary to understand a crucial point about this truth.
Read 14.7 Rm. What important principle is do we in this verse? What is your experience of this reality?
Whether positive or negative, we have influence over others, including members of our family. Taking care of our health in a responsible manner is a blessing not only for ourselves but also for those who share our lives.
What do the following texts about the blessing that we had to represent for social relations? Gn 2.18, 4.9-Ec 12; 1 Cor 12.14-26; GA 6.2 .
Because a good relationship have a positive effect on both our lives and those of others, we should learn to give and receive graciously. We are mistaken when we say: "It my body and I do what I want. " The whole society pays, directly or indirectly, for the bad health choices of each. Human life so precious creation of God, is of extreme value and worth preserving. In many areas it is deprecated But for the Christian person has value. It is important to address not only their own health but also that of others.
A doctor examined the importance of social ties and social support in their relationship with disease and mortality. Social ties, cultural and traditional ties of Japanese have health outcomes that are exemplary. More social ties are good, better health. This doctor also showed that social isolation results in poor health and elevated mortality rates. Rich social relationships influence people positively unwelcome physical, mental and emotional.
What benefits have you gained your social network? How can you help others the way we helped you? Do you tend to receive more of the network that you do, or is it vice versa? What is your response tells you about yourself?
TuesdayUnited in redemption
All humanity has a relationship, one that unites it through Adam, our common ancestor ( Ac 17.26). We are also related by ties of love God has for us all. All men were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, because God " do not want anyone to be lost. " (2 Pet 3.9)
The Bible makes it clear that under our redemption in Jesus all barriers between us must fall, because we are all alike in the eyes of the Lord of sinners who need God's grace.
How does Paul describe those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus? Eph 4.1-16 . What relationship, therefore, should we have with each other?
Nobody hates his own body (Eph 5.29, 30 ). All parts of the body interact to function effectively. If one of them suffers, all other functions are affected. Plus we are close to other, more rapidly and intensely we feel their difficulties.
When we interact socially and meaningfully with others, our health improves. One hundred and seventy two healthy volunteers were exposed to the virus common colds. We then studied the effects of their interpersonal diverges on their health. Those who had very few social contacts were four times more likely to be colds than those who reported a large number of social relationships. These differences could not be explained by factors such as immunity, exercise, sleep quantity, consumption of alcohol, tobacco, etc.. It was further discovered that the diversity of relationships was more important than the total number of people with whom patients interact. The mutual support and the variety of social relations increased resistance to infection, at least according to this study.
All this shows what we talked about this quarter: the emotional, mental and spiritual generally has a powerful effect on physical health. The emotional and spiritual health depends, in particular interpersonal relationships that we share with others
course there are times when one wants to be alone, but it has nothing to do with being isolated, not part of a wider community who may have a supporting role, especially when going through a difficult period.
How get more involved in the life of your church community? This requires there to die more to themselves? Explain. Which of your donation could be useful to others?

Do you support each other
Given the remarkable benefits that comes to serve each other, we understand why Mrs. White made this statement in Medical Ministry: Protest constantly in our lives every Christian kindness and a sincere commitment. " - p. 204. Even if we have any knowledge of the theological world, if we do reflects neither goodness no love, no concern for others, what is it? It's quite, it seems, the theme which Paul develops in 1 Cor 13 . It would be nice if we all reread this chapter from time to time and we wondered if we follow the advice of Paul.
What do the following verses teach us from what should be our relationships with each other?
Jn 13.35, Rom 15.7; Eph 4:32 and Col 3:13; 1 Thes 4.18; Jas 5.16; 1 P 3.8; 1 P 4.9; 1 Jn 1.7
One of the great Christian virtues is to love people despite their weaknesses - as the example of Jesus. It loved his disciples regardless of their many shortcomings and defects. He always showed kindness and indulgence, even when it was rejected or they betrayed him. We are called to do likewise. It is possible that if Christ is at work in our lives - to the extent, of course, when we surrender to him and we let him. When we become aware of all the grace and mercy of any dumped on us by God, then we can begin to do the same to others. Love the friendly people and nice is relatively easy, anyone can do it! But when we are called to love unkind people, those with whom we have difficulty in hearing us or who are mean or unfair to us, we need the grace of God works in us.
you able to love those who are not very easy to love? Comment. How can you improve yourself in this area? How Jesus would behave it to these people? Go and do likewise.

Serving each other
Jesus' life on earth was a life of service. Since the early days of his ministry until the end, he began serving humanity. In fact, according to the Bible, it is always at our service today ( Heb 2.17, 18 ).
We are all born with specific spiritual gifts for service. What are the different spiritual gifts and services presented in the following verses? Rom 12.4-8; 1 Cor 12.1-5, Eph 4.8-11
As noted above, we were created to love others as Jesus loved. When we do this, others are not the only ones to benefit headline. We too, we benefit.
Remember how good you feel when you go to others for help when you give of yourself selflessly, with no intention of removing anything. Something in us is deeply stirs in those moments. We feel a sense of well-being, a satisfaction that nothing really ment, can not match. And this is because in giving of ourselves we live like we were destined to live, we reasons for which we were created originally.
As we have seen, a positive outlook on life has a positive impact on our premises. The body responds best when we're optimistic, happy and fulfilled. It is therefore not surprising that scientific studies have highlighted all the benefits that we see in terms of health when we act for the good of others. And it makes sense: by helping others, you feel better, and thus improves our physical condition. What a perfect combination!
" My brethren, ye have been called to freedom, only that this freedom does not become no excuse for the flesh, through love, do you rather slaves of each other. "(Gal 5.13) What does it mean to be" slaves each other? "how can you apply what the words in your life now? Think of someone you could serve" for love "and do it, even if it takes a sacrifice. After all, it ' is certain - someone, somewhere needs you.

Read Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets s, "Creation," p. 21-28; The Ministry of Healing , "Saved to serve," p. 73-84; "manly virtues" p. 430-435, and if you read English: Counsels on Health , "Social Purity," p. 567-671.
" Many think that would be a great privilege to visit the scene of Christ's life on earth, to walk where he walked, contemplating the lake on which he loved teaching, hills and valleys on which its eyes rested so often. But we do not need to go to Nazareth, Capernaum, Bethany, to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. We will find his footprints near beds of the sick, the poor in the slums, in the crowded streets of big cities, wherever there are human hearts in need of consolation.
"We must feed the hungry, clothe the destitute, comfort the afflicted and suffering. We must work for the desperate hope to inspire and discouraged.
"The love of Christ, manifested in unselfish ministry, will be more effective to reform the evil that will do the sword and the courts. These are necessary to inspire terror in criminals, but a loving missionary can do more. The heart which hardens the criticisms often open to the love of Christ. "- Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing," Saved to serve ", p. 82, 83.
1_ • Consider further the fact that, because that they were created in the image of God, our first parents were similar to Christ, even if they still had much to learn. How does that help in August he has become aware our need for a Savior? (After all, if we compare ourselves to Jesus, we realize how we fell down.)
2_ • Think about the brotherhood that exists in your church and see the members of the School of Sabbath if it is possible to improve it. What could you personally Cairo for this? That could make members of the Sabbath School as a whole to strengthen relationships within the body of the Church? It deals does good to those who have special needs, such as, for example, people who are housebound?
3_ • Discuss in class the benefits and happiness that one experiences when one enters the service of others. Why are we removing such satisfaction? What prevents us from doing more often? How can we, by the power of Christ fight our profound selfishness, which makes us focus on ourselves and our needs rather than the needs of others? What is your experience of selfishness? In other words, have you ever find in your own life how existence is unsatisfactory and empty when you live so selfish? Tell.

If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 now God has placed each member in the body as he wanted. 19 If they were all one member, where would the body? 20 And now there are many members, and one body. 21 The eye can not say to the hand: I have no need of thee: nor again the head to feet: I do not need you. 22 But rather, members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; 23 and those we think are less honorable body, we bestow a greater honor. 1 Corinthians 13 1When I speak with the tongues of men and angels, if I have not charity, I am a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.2 And when I have the gift of prophecy, the science of all mysteries and all knowledge, though I have all faith can move mountains if I have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, when I give my body to be burned, if I have not charity, it does me nothing. 4 Charity is patient, love is kind, charity is not jealous, love does not parade itself, it puffed up, 5 it does nothing rude, it seeks not her own, is not provoked, it does not suspect the evil, 6 it does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Charity never faileth. The prophecies, tongues will cease, knowledge will disappear. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 But when that which is perfect is come, which is partial will disappear. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child when I became a man I put away was child. 12 now we see through a glass, a darkly but then face to face: now I know in part but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, charity, but the greatest of these is charity.

Ephesians 41 I urge you, me , a prisoner for the Lord, walking in a manner worthy of the vocation that was addressed2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. 7 But each of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore it says, ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. 9 But that means: It is mounted, otherwise it is lowered into the lower regions of the earth? 10 He who descended is the same who ascended above all heavens, that he might fill all things. 11 And he gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some to be evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry of building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge the Son of God, the perfect man, unto the measure of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we are no longer children, tossed and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by deception men by their cunning in the ways of seduction, 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ. 16 From him and through all the links of its assistance, the whole body, well coordinated, forming a solid assembly, takes its rise as the force that is appropriate for each of its parts and edifies itself in love.

Sabbath afternoon
Those who love God can not manifest hatred or the envy. Since the celestial principle of eternal love fills the heart, it reflects on others, not simply because of support that we received from them, but because love is a principle of action, changes the character, governs the impulses, controls the passions, reduces enmity, and ennobles the affections student. This love can not be acquired only for himself and his family, but it is as wide as the world, as high as heaven, and is in harmony with that which animates the angels. When grown in the soul, this love softens the whole life and exerts a beneficial influence on everything that surrounds it. Whoever owns it can not be happy, in good and bad days.
If we love the Lord with all our soul, we must also love his children. This love comes from the Spirit of God. It is the heavenly adornment that gives his true nobility and dignity to the soul and makes our lives similar to that of the Master. Whatever the number of our qualities, regardless of the esteem we have of ourselves, if our soul is not called to the heavenly grace of love for God and our fellows, we lack the true goodness, and we're not ready for heaven where everything is love and harmony. Testimonies, vol. 4, pp. 223, 224;
For good mental and spiritual balance , vol. 1, pp. 213, 214.
Those who love and serve God manifested in loving and serving one's neighbor. Paul presents before us the example of converts generous, in their acts of charity far exceeded what could be expected when one is bound by blood. Their love vis-à-vis the next result of their dedication to the Lord. They had abandoned the work of the Spirit of God, and opened their heart in a tender compassion of Christ similar to relieving those in need and suffering. They recognized the obligation resting upon them, and work in harmony with the will of God. And they glorified their Heavenly Father.

If we want to engage in the scope of education, we must consider not only the nature of man and God's intention in creating it, but the disruption that 'led to the human condition, knowledge of evil, and the plan designed by God to educate despite all the man after his glorious project.
When Adam came from the hands of his Creator, he resembled physically, mentally and spiritually. "God created man in His image (Genesis 1: 27). God's plan that was more man advances in the life, the longer it would look like - it better reflects the glory of the Creator. All his faculties could be developed, their size, their force were destined to grow without limits. Fields of study and research vast and wonderful open to them. The mysteries of the visible universe - the "wonders of the science is perfect" (Job 37: 16) - invited man to study. This man had the great privilege of communion face to face, heart to heart with his Creator. If he had remained faithful to God, all this would have belonged forever. Throughout eternity, he would ceased to accumulate treasure constantly renewed knowledge, discover new sources of happiness and to penetrate deeper and deeper wisdom, power and love of God. It would have better and better fulfilled his destiny as a creature: it would better and better reflected the glory of the Creator.
Education , pp. 14, 15; Education, p. 17.
In the council of heaven, God declared: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ... So God created man in his image, he created the image of God "
(Gen. 1:26 b, 27ab). The Lord created the moral faculties of man and his physical strength. The whole thing was a transcription impeccable Himself. God took on human attributes of saints and put him in a garden created especially for him. Only sin could disrupt the beings created by the hand of the Almighty.
The Youth's Instructor , July 20, 1899.
The man had to bear the image of God, both physically and in character. The Son of God alone is "the same footprint" of the Father, but the man was made "likeness." His nature was in harmony with the Creator's will, his intelligence could rise to the divine, his affections were pure, his appetites and passions were under the influence of reason. He was holy, happy to wear the image of God, and perfectly submissive to his will.

is through social relationships that the Christian enters into relation with his fellows. Let him shine the divine light that he has received on the dark path of those who are lost. He does not consider the Savior's love as a sacred and precious treasure that belongs only to him, it instead as a source of water springing up into everlasting life and refreshes all who are slaking their thirst. Its social influence, sanctified by the Spirit of Christ, will help win souls for the Savior. The Ministry of Healing , P. 496; The Ministry of Healing , P. 429.
The Lord has given you life as a sacred. Use it to him. Visit the sick, comforting the poor and those who are in trouble, telling them of the compassionate Redeemer. This work will give you a healthy body and peace of mind. Your face reflects the joy that comes after a selfless service. The price of a love like that of Christ is beyond all calculation, and it makes people like him who has never lived for his own pleasure.
The Youth's Instructor , February 13, 1902.
I was weak with the weak, to win the weak. I did everything to everyone, in order to save some anyway. 1 Corinthians 9.22
We should all look carefully on the way to become more useful to our fellow human beings while being for them a blessing.
All those who claim God's children should remember that they are the work of missionaries in the work putting them in contact with all sorts of attitudes. There are men who lack loyalty to their fellows, there are the aristocrats, the vain, the proud, the frivolous, self-employed, the malcontents, the shot, the discouraged, the fanatics, selfish, shy , the likely, spirits high, the prodigal the polite and rude, and superficial. [...] We can not behave the same way with respect to these spirits so diverse, and yet they are rich or poor, humble or high, docile or independent, they all need kindness, sympathy, truth and love. Through a mutual contact, our minds are polished and refined. We depend on each other, we are all united by the bonds of human brotherhood. [...]
confess Christ openly and courageously revealing, for our character, his gentleness, his humility, his love. They show men charmed beauty of his holiness.
Consider the Savior's love as a source of water springing up into everlasting life and refreshes all who go there to quench their thirst. Our social influence, sanctified by the Spirit of Christ, help us win souls for the Savior.

must learn students that they are not independent atoms, but each is a thread that must join with others to compose a whole. This statement can be nowhere more valuable than the home school. Here, students have daily opportunities that seizures can contribute greatly to building a character. It is therefore the students to use their time and take advantage of the surrounding circumstances, to develop a character that will make them happy and useful. Those who withdraw into themselves, not wanting to unite with others to be helpful, lose many blessings, as the mutual contact refines and polishes. Social relations are an opportunity to make acquaintances, to enter into friendships, which create an atmosphere of unity and love, pleasing to God and the inhabitants of heaven.
In a special way, those who have tasted the love of Christ should develop their social abilities, allowing them to win souls to their Savior. Christ should not be kept hidden in their hearts, like a secret treasure, jealously guarded for himself, or only those who expressed their liking. Students must be educated so that they manifest the ideal of Christ to those who are most in need, even if they are not companions of choice. At any time, anywhere, Jesus showed a sympathetic interest in respect of the human family and the light of a joyous piety emanated from him. Our students must learn to walk in his footsteps, to 'show the same altruistic interests, the same sympathy, the same love for their comrades, the same desire to bring souls to the Savior. Christ should be in their heart as a source of living water springing up into everlasting life, refreshing all who come to drink.
is precisely such a vigilant ministry of love for others at the proper time which is precious in the eyes of God. Thus, even when they are at school, students may, if they are faithful to their profession, be living missionaries of the Lord. It will take time for that, but the moments and employees will be very useful, because in this way, students learn how to present Christianity in the world.
Christ never refused to mingle with other clans in friendly games. He accepted invitations the Pharisee and the publican. In these circumstances, every word was an odor of life for guests, because he seized the opportunity this time to teach them some approximation beautiful lessons relevant to their needs. Thus he taught his disciples how they should behave, they were in a religious environment or in a medium incredulous. By his own example, he showed them in any public meeting, their conversation should not take the generally adopted in similar opportunities. Testimonies, vol. 6, pp. 172, 173; Evidence, vol. II pp. 512, 513.
Wednesday
Every worker who has the true meaning of sacrifice is willing to give for the sake of others. Christ said: "Whoever loves his life will lose it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor. "
(John 12: 25,26) In intense efforts to help and think that necessary, the true Christian shows his love for God and neighbor. Maybe he will lose his life in service, but when Christ gathers His jewels to Him, He will find it.
Many souls are plunged into perplexity, collapsing under the burden of guilt. He wishes them to be delivered from sin. They have lost the true sources of happiness, and has poisoned their lives by drinking polluted water from the transgression. They need the help of a friend who lends a hand. Teach them how to back up the hill, how to live so that they regain the respect of those around them. And, although the will has been weakened and depraved, there is hope for them in Christ. It will warm their heart pulses highest and most sacred desires.
They need to hear words of encouragement, so they can seize the hope set before them in the Gospels. The promises of the Word of God will be for them like the leaves of the tree of life. Patiently continue your efforts until a joy filled with gratitude the trembling hand seize the hope of redemption through Christ.
Whoever has been tried and tested, and whose hope was close to collapse - but who was saved by listening to a message of love, - which can best understand the message of salvation. He whose heart is filled with the love of Christ, because he has sought and brought him back to the fold, knows how to work for others. It can be shown to sinners the Lamb of God. He gave himself unreservedly to God, and it was accepted in the Beloved. The hand he stretched his weakness was seizure. Through the ministry of such person many prodigal son be returned to the Father, to stand before Him with contrition and penance. Signs of the Times, June 3, 1908.
We are approaching the end. The tests from outside will be abundant, but he can not point to come from within the Church. Let those who claim to be God's people give up themselves for the love of truth and Jesus Christ.
"For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, that each one may receive good or evil he has done in his body. "(2 Co.5: 10). Anyone who truly loves God will have the spirit of Christ and an ardent love for his brothers. More people are in communion with the Lord, the more his affections are centered on Christ, and the less it is disturbed by the troubles and frustrations of this life: Those who grow to the stature of men and women in Christ will become more and more like Him in character, far from rejecting them any temptation to yield to murmur and discontent. They will not be "discoverers" of mistakes.
Testimonies , vol. 5, pp. 483, 484; Testimonies, vol. II, pp. 221, 222.
God could do his work in the world and could meet the needs of the poor without the cooperation of man. It uses our service and our gifts, not just so that we can and show our love for Him and our neighbor, but because the service and sacrifice for the good of others strengthens the spirit of benevolence in the heart of donor, we combine in a way closer to the One who was rich, and for our sake became poor, that through His poverty might enrich us. Only by imitating the example of Christ that our character will be developed into His likeness. In Heavenly Places , P. 303.

"... appointment, through love serve one another. 'Gal 5: 3b
Love is the silk cord that unites hearts to each other. We must not think that we should establish as an example. As long as we think about ourselves and what we are owed from others, we will be unable to perform our work to save souls. When Christ takes possession of our heart, we will not make the narrow circle of our self the center of our thoughts and our attentions.
wonderful What respect for human life did Jesus expressed in the mission of his life! It did not appear to people as a king, demanding attention, reverence, and service, but as someone who wishes to serve and uplift humanity. He said he had not come to be served but to serve ...
Wherever Christ saw a human being, he saw someone who needed human sympathy. There are many among us who are ready to serve certain people - those we honor -. But even those for whom Christ wishes us to be a blessing (if we did not have a cold heart, unkind and selfish), we go further and do not take into account.
